TyresGlasgow.co.uk privacy policy
What we collect and why
1. Searching for tyres
Whenever you look up a car by its registration, the two things you type, registration and postcode, are used to work out the sizes that fit the car and the closest fitting centres. It is our fulfilment partner, Tyres.co.uk, that answers the lookup, since it holds the vehicle and centre data; this site does not keep the search against your name, and nothing of it is kept here except the ordinary server log. Searching by tyre size sends nothing personal, since a size is not a person.
2. The centre finder
The "nearest to you" finder on the fitting pages uses postcodes.io, a public postcode service, to turn your postcode into coordinates, so the centres around Glasgow can be ordered by how far away they are. The postcode is not stored by this site, in any form.
3. Maps and weather
The Glasgow maps are OpenStreetMap tiles, fetched by your browser from openstreetmap.org, so your IP address reaches OpenStreetMap, just as it reaches any site you visit. The local weather shown on some pages is pulled by our own server from the Met Office, falling back to MET Norway, once for the whole city, with nothing about you in the request.
4. Cookies and logs
You will find no advertising or analytics cookies on TyresGlasgow.co.uk, and no tracking script runs on it, from the home page to the last centre listing. Hosting is by Vercel, whose servers keep standard logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) for a short time so the site stays secure and up, never to identify you.
5. When you buy
When you choose a tyre and press buy, you leave this site to Tyres.co.uk, our fulfilment partner, and the order completes there. Your name, address, payment details, vehicle and fitting booking are taken and processed by Tyres.co.uk according to its own privacy policy, where the use of that information and your rights over it are explained.
6. Reviews
The reviews on the centre pages were written by verified buyers and are supplied by Tyres.co.uk, and show only a first name and initial. No review is collected on this site, so there is nowhere here to leave one; the asking is done by Tyres.co.uk after the fitting.
7. Your rights and contact
As UK data protection law provides, you can find out what personal data is held on you, have it put right or removed, and object to its being used. Given how little this site keeps, such a request will usually concern an order, which Tyres.co.uk handles; in any event, use the contact page. This policy may be updated from time to time; the copy here is always the one that applies, so check back if it matters to you.
